Drama unfolded in Anambra as Sir James Louis, once a proud Catholic Knight, has taken a surprising turn, becoming a Senior Bishop in the traditionalist movement, Omenala Bu Eziokwi Na Ndu.
Known widely as Ebube Anaedo, Sir James made headlines earlier this year in January 2026, when he publicly walked out of Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral in Nnewi during its dedication.
Footage of him leaving the cathedral in visible anger went viral, shocking churchgoers.
Sources say his dramatic exit was fueled by frustration over the recognition or lack thereof of the late businessman and Senator Ifeanyi Ubah during the cathedral’s inauguration.
Sir James reportedly felt that Ubah, a major supporter of the project, was sidelined in favour of other honorees.
That fateful day, he tore off his knightly regalia and declared a permanent break from institutional religion. From then on, he earned the nickname “Akachaam.”
Now, videos circulating on social media show Sir James undergoing traditional initiation rites, officiated by prominent traditionalist Mathias Ezeaku, marking his elevation to Senior Bishop in the Omenala Bu Eziokwi Na Ndu movement, which champions indigenous spiritual practice.
In the ceremony, he reflected on his Catholic past, highlighting his time in the Block Rosary, choir activities, and knighthood but declared he had fully embraced traditional religion, leaving his old life behind.
Akachaam’s dramatic religious shift has sparked debate across social media, with supporters praising his bold move and critics questioning his sudden transformation.
