A FOOTBALLER has been arrested on suspicion of murdering an opponent more than a year after a violent altercation.
Luis Torres was fatally injured following an alleged assault by Moisés Pulido on September 9, 2024.


The incident occurred during a seven-a-side amateur match between Torres’ team, Viper 3.0, and Pulido’s team, Deportivo Esmeralda, on a synthetic pitch in Guadalajara, northwest of Mexico City.
Torres, 16, reportedly advanced through the midfield in the second half, laying off the ball before confronting a rival for a poorly timed tackle.
Pulido, 25, is said to have rushed over and struck the teenager in the face multiple times during the Cannán League match.
After Torres fell to the ground, Pulido allegedly continued to hit him in the back of the head, resulting in fatal injuries.
Emergency services were summoned to the scene, but Torres had already succumbed to his injuries by the time they arrived, having been seen convulsing.
Pulido reportedly fled the scene.
He was arrested on Friday, October 10, after a warrant was issued for his capture.
A court judge has charged him with intentional homicide, and he remains in custody while the investigation continues.
In a statement, the Public Prosecutor’s Office said: “On the evening of September 9, 2024, Moisés ‘N’ was participating in a soccer match against the victim’s team.”
“At one point, the suspect allegedly struck the victim in the face and then continued to hit him in the back of the head.”
