REAL MADRID and France striker Karim Benzema has been named as the winner of the 2022 Ballon d’Or.
It was a well deserved win for the 34-year-old, who has risen to be come one of the best players in world football.
And Beznema beat a host of Premier League stars to the award, including third-placed Kevin De Bruyne.
Meanwhile, Diogo Jota has been officially ruled out of the World Cup with a calf injury.
The Liverpool star tweeted: “After such a good night at Anfield mine ended in the worst way!
“In the last minute one of my dreams collapsed. I will be one more supporting from the outside, club and country, and fighting to be back as soon as possible.
“You’ll Never Walk Alone”
