Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has nominated a chairman and two commissioners of the newly established Adamawa State Electricity Regulatory Commission for confirmation by the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
Fintiri asked the Assembly to confirm Bako Alhaji Rabiu as chairman of the Adamawa State Electricity Regulatory Commission, as well as Shanti Victoria Sashi and Adamu Jibrilla as commissioners of the commission.
This is contained in a letter forwarded to the Assembly by the governor, requesting lawmakers to approve the nominees to steer the affairs of the commission towards improving electricity supply in the state.
The governor said the nominees were needed to work towards generating reliable electricity for residents of Adamawa State.
“The commission was created with a mandate of providing a legal framework for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Adamawa State,” Fintiri explained to the Assembly.
He added that the commission would be expected to explore the abundant sources of power in the state to generate electricity.
