The arrogant 19-year-old, dressed in a gaudy orange top and gold chain, is cuffed in the fast-food joint in front of customers.

An officer tells him: “Put your hands behind your back for me, Sonny.”

Boyes, who was drunk and high on , keeps questioning why he’s being detained.

Cops tell him he is being taken in on suspicion of sexual assault and the teenager replies: “What the f***”.

and Cornwall Police had been called after Boyes attacked two girls in Digby earlier that day, on March 9 last year.

The sex attacker raped a 16-year-old victim in some bushes near Digby & Sowton train station at around 9pm.

She managed to flee and Boyes went on to sexually assault a 17-year-old girl who was waiting at the train station.

He groped her as she sat on a bench and continued his attack as she boarded her train.

Members of the public intervened and helped the young girl get away before reporting the horror to police.

Exeter Crown heard Boyes was “forceful and persistent” during his sick assaults.

He was arrested at 10.20pm and taken into custody where he said he didn’t need to rape anyone because he was too good looking.

Boyes was later charged and a jury convicted him of two rapes, four assaults by penetration and three sexual assaults.

A judge sentenced the vile rapist to 17 years and said he must serve a further seven on licence.

Upon sentencing, the judge said Boyes had “charmed and alarmed” the victims.

He told the defendant he had shown no remorse and continued to express misogynistic views in custody.

Boyes was also put on the sex offender register for life and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order.

The terms of the order prohibit him following or speaking to women in public, using sexually explicit language to females in public, having sex in public places, and using public transport when under the influence of drink or drugs.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Jordan Pearce said after sentencing: “We welcome the sentence handed down by the court today, which highlights the seriousness of the offences committed by Sonny Boyes.

“My utmost thanks and praise are foremost with the two victims. This outcome would not have been possible without the continuous courage shown by the victims.

“They have both been through a horrific ordeal that no person should ever be subjected to and have continued to show incredible bravery throughout.

“The crimes committed by Boyes on the 9 May 2025 have had a lasting impact on the victims, and the local community.

“He preyed on two young women, where he displayed aggressive and sexually harassing behaviour towards them. He was forceful and persistent in his attack committing two separate attacks in a very short period of time.

“He has shown no remorse for his actions throughout the investigation and during interview he was derogatory and sexist, where he admitted to engaging in sexual activity with the victims.”
