Emmanuel Fernandez is full of excitement after scoring his debut goal for the Super Eagles, DAILY POST reports.
The Rangers defender netted Nigeria’s second goal in the 2-2 draw with Al-Nashama of Jordan on Tuesday night.
Fernandez made his first appearance for Éric Chelle’s side against the Team Melli of Iran last week Friday.
The 24-year-old made a a big impression on his second appearance for the three-time African champions, helping keep things tight at the back, and contributing an important goal.
The 24-year-old, who was born in London to Nigerian parents said it was a big honour to play for the West Africans, and score his first goal.
“Honoured and grateful to play for Nigeria. First start, first goal. Enjoyable experience,” he wrote on X.
