Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade has said that female football is not as rewarding as male football.

According to her, the difference between the two in terms of financial reward is not close.

The Paris Saint-Germain star stated this in a recent episode of the Leadership Podcast hosted by Stephen Akintayo.

She, however, noted that female football is now improving compared to the last decade, but maintained that the gap between female football and male football is still wide.

“Female football is not as rewarding as male football. The financial reward is not even close… To be honest, the narrative is changing compared to 10-12 years ago.

“Every year there is always an improvement which we appreciate, but the gap is still really wide from male football,” she said.
Ajibade said the inequality between women’s football and men’s football is due to lack of awareness and sponsorship for women’s football.

She appealed for more support and sponsorship of women’s football.
