The chairmanship candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the upcoming Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council election, Moses Paul, expressed disappointment that the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, faced criticism instead of praise for his remarks regarding public primary schools in Abuja.
Paul made this statement on Sunday during an interview on Arise Television, which was monitored by DAILY.

This came after Obi criticized the government for the deplorable state of public schools in the nation’s capital.

Obi, who visited the LEA Primary School in Kapwa, Abuja, with Paul, expressed his shock at discovering classrooms lacking chairs and toilets—conditions that he stated no responsible nation should accept.

In response to the criticism directed at Obi, the ADC AMAC chairmanship candidate remarked, “It is astonishing that individuals like Peter Obi, who highlight important issues, receive insults and backlash instead of commendation.

“A primary school in the FCT is devoid of basic facilities: there are no windows, children are forced to sit on the floor, and there are insufficient toilets for both staff and students.

“This situation continues in the FCT, where children were out of school for months due to the misappropriation of over N4 billion, leading to protests. There is an urgent need for change in AMAC’s leadership,” he stated.
