The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Thursday urged Borno South Senator, Ali Ndume, to consistently advocate for the Senate to allocate sufficient funds for the implementation of projects within the capital city.

Wike encouraged Ndume to ensure that the Senate enhances the budget for the administration of the FCT, emphasizing that the funds will be effectively utilized.

The Minister made this appeal during the official launch of the installation of Integrated (Hybrid) Solar Lighting in various districts of Abuja and along expressways as part of the Light Up Abuja initiative: Lots I and II.

According to Wike: “Senator Ndume, who has just arrived, I am aware of your area, which lacks street lights. It’s difficult to sleep at night without proper lighting.”

“That is why each time you are in the Senate, when we request one naira, please consider increasing it to five naira, knowing that the funds will be put to good use. That’s what is essential.”

“Thank you for your support, to the Senate and the House of Representatives. I appreciate everyone here.”

“Every day we go out, you consistently provide us with support, which is very important. I thank all of you and invite you to join us as we officially launch the lighting of our project.”
