FBI arrests another suspect for kidnapping mother, baby

Published on May 02, 2025 at 07:11 PM

FBI agents have arrested a 37-year-old man, Eleodoro “Leo”; Estrada-Hernandez, in connection with the kidnapping of a woman from Garner and her one-year-old child.

A statement from the FBI confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody in Knightdale at approximately 9 a.m. on Friday.

DAILY POST reports that authorities had, on Wednesday, sought public assistance in locating the suspect, as previously reported by The News & Observer.

Estrada-Hernandez is the third individual arrested by FBI agents in relation to the abduction.

The suspect faces two charges of first-degree kidnapping, two counts of assault by pointing a firearm, and one count each of second-degree kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a felon, all stemming from the Monday-night kidnapping of Alondra Michelle Benitez De Jesus, 26, and her child.

Reports indicate that De Jesus and her daughter were taken from their home on Buck Branch Drive on Monday, when three armed, masked men broke in and demanded $1 million. When no money was forthcoming, the intruders allegedly bound De Jesus’ husband with duct tape and drove off with both De Jesus and her child.
