Family of kidnapped victim in Edo seeks Okpebholo’s help as captors demand N15m ransom

The family of Gloria Ikhaghu, a victim of the kidnapping incident, which occurred on Friday, September 5, 2025, has appealed to the State Governor Monday Okpebholo to assist in the safe return of their daughter.

DAILY POST recalls that the victim alongside other passengers were abducted during an attack on an 18-seater bus belonging to the New Edo Line Transport Company and a Toyota Camry car along the Benin-Owan-Auchi road.

A source close to the family said her captors are demanding for the sum of N15 million ransom fro her and each of the victims.

He said the N15 million is a whole lot of money to the family who had just buried their late father.

According to him, the family has been broken since the kidnap of their daughter.

‎”Her abductors are demanding for N15 million ransom. That is a whole lot of money, considering the fact that they just finished the funeral ceremony of their late father.

‎”We have pleaded with her abductors to spare her life. we are also begging governor Monday Okpebholo and everyone, to assist in the safe return of Gloria,”he said.

He lamented that the said Gloria was returning to her base from Okpekpe community in Etsako East Local Government Area where she went to bury her late father before her abduction.
