FABIO WARDLEY is envisioning a surprise against the undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
In 2018, the Ipswich heavyweight was an unknown rookie who traveled to Ukraine to spar with the Olympic gold medalist.

A victory for the 30-year-old against former world champion Joseph Parker on October 25 will make him the mandatory challenger for two of the four belts held by the remarkable southpaw.
He shared with SunSport: “I had an interesting conversation with my team.
“I am potentially on the verge of fighting Oleksandr Usyk for one or all of the belts.
“I think I had only been a professional for about two years when I received the Facebook message inviting me to fly out there and spar with him.
“It would probably be amusing from his perspective too, to look across the ring one night and think, ‘I recognize him.’”
Both Wardley and Parker could have chosen easier matches while awaiting Usyk's decision on his next step.
However, they have opted for this challenge, especially as many major fights are heading to Saudi Arabia.
Wardley continued: “It’s a testament to our characters.
“We share a similar mindset.
“We could have both waited on the sidelines.
“But ring rust is a dreadful thing.
“I want to seize all the opportunities that I’ve created for myself.
“I desire world titles, but I also want to provide my fans with exciting fights and memorable nights.”
