Nigeria forward Junior Ajayi is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines as a result of injury.
Ajayi picked up an injury in his Egyptian Premier League club, Smouha’s pre-season friendly against El-Qanah FC on Thursday.
According to the Egyptian website, King Fut, medical scans confirmed that he has fractured the tibial shaft in his lower leg and will now spend time on the side sidelines.
The 26-year-old’s recovery period is expected to last around 10 weeks and the striker is likely to return to action in late December.
Ajayi joined Smouha from Libyan side Al-Nasr Benghazi back in July.
He signed a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2025.
