Ex-Kwara Governor, Cornelius Adebayo to be buried October

The final burial ceremony for former Kwara State Governor, Chief Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo, has been slated forOctober 11, 2025.

This was disclosed onWednesdayby family representatives in the Oke-Onigbin community, located in Isin Local Government Area of the state.

The chosen date, according to the family, was agreed upon following consultations with key stakeholders, including officials at both the federal and state levels.

DAILY POST reports that Chief Adebayo passed away last Wednesday at the age of 84 in his Abuja residence.

A respected statesman, Adebayo served not only as governor of Kwara State but also as Nigeria’s former Minister of Transport and Communications.

He hailed from the Oke-Onigbin community in Isin LGA, where preparations are underway to give him a dignified farewell.
