Known as Hill Dickinson Stadium, supporters are impressed with its modern design and its potential to foster a lively atmosphere.

Although they just moved into their 52,769-capacity arena this season, fans already feel a sense of belonging after bidding farewell to Goodison Park.

According to the Daily Mail , Meis is now shifting his attention to his next design and aims to create a new home for the ambitious Blues.

Birmingham, co-owned by NFL legend, has recently been promoted to the Championship and is aspiring for a place in the Premier League.

Brady and fellow co-owner Tom Wagner are planning a Sports Quarter in Birmingham, with their new 62,000-capacity venue at its heart.

This project will also feature a sports campus and training facilities, and Meis is eager to assist his fellow Americans with the endeavor.

Initial designs for the stadium have drawn comparisons to a “spaceship” due to their futuristic appearance.

Meis attended a conference at Villa Park – the home of Birmingham’s rivals – on Monday and disclosed that his firm AECOM wishes to collaborate with Brady and others on both the stadium and the sports quarter.

When asked about upcoming projects, Meis stated: “Clearly, there’s the Birmingham stadium project, and we’re pursuing that.”

Meis is also known for designing the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, and Roma’s new stadium.

Birmingham currently sits 16th in the standings after achieving three wins, three draws, and three losses this season.

Their progress under the ownership of Brady and Wagner has been chronicled in the Amazon Prime series ‘Built in Birmingham: Brady and the Blues’.

The owners have expressed their desire for an upgrade to St Andrews, which has a capacity of 29,409.

In 2023, the pair’s firm Knighthead acquired a 48-acre site in Bordesley, previously home to the Birmingham Wheels Raceway.

The stadium and sports quarter project is anticipated to cost up to £3 billion, with a projected completion date in the 2030-31 season.

Speaking to the BBC about the plans, Wagner remarked: “It’s a 62,000-seater stadium, with a 15,000-20,000 seat arena, and there will be a show pitch for the academy and the women’s team.

“The objective is to host a wide variety of international events, not just in football but also American football.

“If you look across Western Europe, you would be hard pressed to find another city with this much land available within walking distance of the city center where a project of this scale can be developed in an economically viable manner.”
