EVERTON responded to ITV pundit Lee Dixon after the former Arsenal player questioned why Jordan Pickford has yet to transfer to a “bigger club” during the World Cup qualifier between England and Latvia.
The 61-year-old joined Sam Matterface in the commentary box for the match in Riga on Tuesday.

During the match, he wondered why Pickford remains with Everton considering his achievements with the national team.
Dixon suggested that he should consider a move to a “bigger club,” which prompted an immediate reaction from the Toffees.
The official club account posted on X, stating: “9 top-flight titles, 5 FA Cups, 1 European title, and one of football’s most passionate fanbases, along with a world-class new stadium.
“Everton FC – a big club: past, present & future, @LeeDixon2.”
Fans quickly responded, with one person commenting: “Only those beneath us try to bring us down.”
Another remarked: “That was an absurd comment to make.”
A third fan wrote: “It's amusing to hear Lee Dixon question why Pickford hasn’t moved to one of the ‘bigger clubs,’ given that he criticizes him every time he plays for England.”
While another added: “It's nice for Lee Dixon to finally acknowledge Pickford’s talent… It’s just unfortunate that it came along with a suggestion for him to leave.”
Pickford has made 329 appearances for Everton since joining in 2017, solidifying his role as a key player.
His match against Latvia marked his 80th cap for England.
The goalkeeper maintained a clean sheet as the Three Lions secured a 5-0 victory.
As a result, they qualified for the tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
