Europa League final: Man Utd take decision on sacking Amorim after defeat to Tottenham

Published on May 22, 2025 at 07:27 PM

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, is not facing the sack despite their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final on Wednesday.

According to Sky Sports, the Premier League giants continue to regard Amorim as part of their longer-term project.

United’s commitment to the 40-year-old will not be affected by the loss, despite the club losing out on automatic Champions League spot.

Speaking after the game in Bilbao, Amorim had said he would leave United “the next day”;; for “no compensation”;; if the club’s board and fans no longer wanted him.

Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford in November with United sitting 13th in the table.

Since then, the Red Devils have fallen three places to sit above the relegated teams.

They have also been knocked out of the three cup competitions in the process.
