Benjamin Sesko has revealed why he rejected moves to Arsenal and Newcastle United to join their Premier League rivals, Manchester United.

A deal for the 22-year-old was officially confirmed as a new United player on Saturday.

Sesko was heavily linked with Arsenal at the start of the summer and believed to be Mikel Arteta’a first choice striker.

However, a move fell through. With the Slovenian expected to remain with the Bundesliga side, Newcastle tried to bring him to St James Park.

Sesko, who will signed a contract until June 2030, has now spoken about United’s project and ambitions.

“The history of Manchester United is obviously very special but what really excites me is the future,” Sesko said.

“When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to continue to grow and compete for the biggest trophies again soon.”

Sesko could be unveiled by the Red Devils ahead of their pre-season friendly against Fiorentina on Saturday.
