EPL: We have clear expectations next season – Man Utd CEO warns Amorim

Published on June 06, 2025 at 03:55 PM

Manchester United’s chief executive, Omar Berrada, has told manager Ruben Amorim that another season of failure will not be acceptable.

The Red Devils finished the 2024/2025 season without silverware, having endured what was their worst season in history.

United had the chance to qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League final but lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Matheus Cunha has already arrived from Wolves in a £62.5 million deal and United are set to wrap up the transfer for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

“We were proud to reach the final of the UEFA Europa League, Berrada said after the release of United’s latest financial results.

“But ultimately, we were disappointed to finish as runners-up in Bilbao.

“We had a difficult season in the Premier League, which we all know fell below our standards – and we have a clear expectation of improvement next season.”;
