Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson has called on manager Erik ten Hag to sign Portugal World Cup striker Goncalo Ramos to replace forward Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag is on the hunt for a new centre-forward this January after Man United terminated Ronaldo’s contract by mutual consent last month.
However, Kleberson believes Man United under Ten Hag need a guaranteed goalscorer like Ramos to succeed Ronaldo at the club.
“They [Manchester United] need someone who can come in and score goals,” Kleberson told Ladbrokes.
“Even if it takes that player a little while to get used to whatever system the manager [Ten Hag] wants to play, they need a guaranteed goalscorer. Goncalo Ramos, the Portuguese kid, can be that guy.
“He is really young, but he has already shown us what he is capable of, on the biggest stage of all at the [2022 FIFA] World Cup, scoring a hat-trick against Switzerland.
“The way he plays, and how he moves and interacts with his teammates… he could be their new Cristiano Ronaldo. A move to United would be a good thing for him.”
