Gallas, who spent four seasons at the Emirates between 2006 and 2010, told Casino, “He [Saliba] can become one of the top defenders.
The Arsenal and Chelsea star said Saliba still needs a defender of higher experience to help the youngster and take him to an even higher level.
“Sometimes you need to learn from someone and at the moment, he doesn’t have that at Arsenal,” he told Casino.
“I think Gabriel is playing well. He plays with a lot of intensity and is improving, but Saliba can’t learn from him.
“Saliba needs an experienced player next to him and he will become even better. I love what he is doing for Arsenal.”
