Liverpool legend, Danny Murphy, has kicked against the possibility of Chelsea signing forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Murphy believes Chelsea manager Graham Potter likes to rotate his team and feels Ronaldo would not like the idea.
Ronaldo has been linked with a move to Chelsea since he left Man United earlier this week.
His contract was terminated by the Red Devils following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan last week.
The Portugal captain had slammed Man United, and their manager Erik ten Hag, among others, amid his lack of regular game time at Old Trafford.
However, Murphy believes Chelsea under Potter would inherit the same problems as Man United should Ronaldo move to Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to Lord Ping, Murphy said: “I think that it is a shame that [Ronaldo’s exit from Man United] ended this way.
“I think that it is a decision that suits both parties.”
He added: “In terms of moving to Chelsea, I can’t see it. I think Graham Potter would inherit the same problems if he doesn’t play him every week, and Graham Potter likes to rotate.
“In fact, he’s a manager that never plays the same team every week.
“I don’t think Ronaldo would be too engaged with his rotation policy. I really can’t see it happening. I would be gobsmacked if it did.”
