Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has said only two teams can lift the Premier League trophy next season.
Liverpool won the title in Arne Slot’s first campaign and are the reigning champions.
The Reds finished 10 points ahead of Arsenal who were runners-up again, while Manchester City came third, ending their four-year run of winning the title.
Liverpool have replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold with Jeremie Frimpong.
They have paid a record-fee to sign playmaker Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, while Milo Kerkez have also been added to Slot’s squad.
Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders have all arrived at City.
Arsenal are yet to strike a deal for their marquee striker signing. But they are expected to confirm the transfer of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in the coming weeks.
Deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard are also believed to be in their final stages.
But Ferdinand has been left unimpressed by Arsenal’s activity in the summer market.
“It’s only going to be between Liverpool and Man City next season,”; Ferdinand said on Rio Ferdinand Presents.
“Arsenal might kick up a fuss for a couple of months â six months maybe â [but nothing more].”;
