Chelsea midfielder, Moises Caicedo has named his teammate and captain, Reece James as his idol.
The Ecuadorian midfielder revealed that he started watching and admiring his 25-year-old teammate after watching his performance in the UEFA Champions League final in 2021.
Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 to win the Champions League in 2021.
Caicedo told UEFA’s YouTube channel, “I see how he trains, and I see how he plays in games. I also watched him before joining Chelsea.
“In the UEFA Champions League final, he was fantastic. I think he’s been an idol for many people for a long time – me included.”;;
James will lead the Blues out on Wednesday as they lock horns with Real Betis in the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League in Poland.
James, regarded as one of the most promising England stars, missed almost 60 matches due to injury concerns in the last two seasons.
However, the 25-year-old played 26 games across all competitions for Chelsea this campaign
The England international netted twice from his defensive duties and provided two assists.
