Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has been handed a one-match touchline ban.
The Football Association has successfully appealed against the decision to only fine Klopp for confronting a match official.
After he confronted referee Anthony Taylor during their match against Manchester City on October, the German was initially fined £30,000 by an independent regulatory commission.
The FA felt the punishment was too lenient and now, an independent appeal board has now banned Klopp from the touchline with immediate effect.
Klopp will now sit out their home game against Southampton.
“An independent Appeal Board has allowed the FA’s appeal against an Independent Regulatory Commission’s sanction in relation to the recent case involving Jurgen Klopp.
“As a result, the Liverpool FC manager has been suspended from the touchline for one match with immediate effect, fined £30,000 and warned as to his future conduct,” a statement from the FA read in part.
Liverpool are currently in eighth place with 19 points.
The game against Southampton at Anfield will be their last before the World Cup.
