Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas, has named Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli as the two best players in the Premier League so far.
Both Haaland and Martinelli have been impressive for their respective club sides so far this season.
Martinelli, who joined Arsenal from Brazilian outfit Ituano for £6.4 million in the summer of 2019, has registered four goals and two assists in nine Premier League starts.
Haaland, on the other hand, is currently the top scorer in the Premier League with 15 goals.
Speaking on BBC MOTDx (via HITC), Jenas said, “Martinelli is arguably one of the best players in the league so far. Him and Haaland.”
He added, “If you were going to do like a Player of the Year so far, then Haaland, you might as well give him the trophy now. Martinelli would be around that conversation, I would say.”
