Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has hailed Chelsea goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga over his âmiraculousâ revival at Stamford Bridge.
Arrizabalaga has taken back his number one spot at Chelsea under Graham Potter, having been displaced by Edouard Mendy during Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchelâs tenures.
The Blues brought Kepa from La Liga, making him the most expensive goalkeeper in history when he made a £72m switch from Athletic Bilbao in 2018.
On arrival at Stamford Bridge, Kepa lost his form and was heading to becoming a flop as he was dropped and replaced by Senegalese goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.
Wright is delighted to see the Spain international’s revival at Stamford Bridge, calling it âmiraculousâ and âmagnificentâ.
Speaking on the Wrightyâs House podcast, he said: “The manâs changed. Heâs gone from a caterpillar to a butterfly with the saves heâs making.
“What heâs gone through to now get back into the team is nothing short of miraculous in terms of his mental strength. Itâs magnificent.”
