Nigerian defender, Benjamin Frederick has expressed his delight after winning Brentford’s young Player of the Season award.

Frederick linked up with the Bees on loan from Simoibein Football Academy in August 2023.

The deal was made permanent in April 2024 with the centre-back signing a four-year contract.

The 19-year-old was named on the bench four times this season by Brentford.

Frederick also made three appearances for the club during pre-season.

The former Flying Eagles star thanked his teammates for their support.

“I’m really pleased to be recognised by my team-mates,”;; Fredrick told the club’s official website.

“Coming from Nigeria, I’ve had to adapt to a new environment and playing style, but I’m happy that the hard work I have put in is paying off.”;;
