Chelsea’s manager, Liam Rosenior, has spoken about the news that Cole Palmer might be moving to Manchester United.
Addressing the press ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at the weekend, Rosenior said that Palmer is happy at Stamford Bridge despite rumours about him leaving.
He stated that he has Palmer in his long-term plans at the club, insisting that the midfielder has not shown any sign of being unhappy or wanting to leave.
Some recent reports claimed that Palmer, who was born and raised in Manchester, wants to join Manchester United because he misses home.
He has been linked to Manchester United because he was reportedly a fan of the Red Devils as a child.
However, Rosenior has rubbished these rumours, stating, “I’ve spoken to Cole many times, and he appears to be really happy here.
“He plays a major role in our long-term plans. Every player faces injury issues, and it’s a normal part of being a footballer.”
Palmer developed through Manchester City’s academy and played in 41 senior matches for the team, scoring six goals and providing two assists.
He joined Chelsea in 2023 because he wasn’t getting enough game time. He has been a big surprise for the Blues, with 48 goals and 29 assists in 110 games.
However, the midfielder has faced some injury problems this season and has only played in 13 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals.
