Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has warned Chelsea fans against getting ‘carried away’ with their manager, Graham Potter’s start at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel was sacked a couple of weeks ago and was quickly replaced by former Brighton boss Potter.
The 47-year-old Englishman has overseen just three matches, winning two and drawing one in the Champions League against Salzburg.
Merson said Chelsea supporters ‘should not get carried away’ as Potter’s side are yet to play ‘anyone of real note’.
He noted that Graham Potter’s side would do better next season, saying not much should be expected from the Blues this season.
Chelsea welcome Wolves to Stamford Bridge on Saturday and Merson told Daily Star: “I watched Chelsea at Crystal Palace last weekend and I thought the Blues got away with one.
“AC Milan was a good result but they were fortunate to put a team out, so we shouldn’t get carried away just yet with Graham Potter.
“If Chelsea get in the top four this season, I think they’ve had the biggest result ever. I don’t mean that disrespectfully but it’s going to take time to implement his ideas from Brighton.
“Next season, I think we will see a completely different Chelsea. They will be a massive threat.”
