Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has insisted they are not thinking about winning the Premier League title.
Arteta made the remarks after Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola described them as contenders on Friday
When asked about the prospect of being top by Christmas as the league goes on break for the 2022 World Cup after this weekend, Arteta said: “It would be great but our focus is to play better every single day.
“If we do that, then our chances of winning will increase and that’s where our focus is.
Arteta was asked about Guardiola’s comments describing Arsenal as title contenders.
He replied: “I’m not here to give opinions on that. What I want to do is finish as high as possible and play as well as possible.”
Arsenal are currently two points ahead of City on top of the league going into this weekend’s fixtures.
