Arsenal have confirmed that their attacking midfielder, Emile Smith Rowe has undergone surgery on his leg ahead of their Premier League derby with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The Gunners disclosed this in a statement via its website on Thursday.
The statement read in part, “This successful surgery took place in London in the past few days, and Emile’s rehabilitation programme is already underway. We are hopeful that Emile will return to full training in December.
“Everyone at the club will now be supporting and working hard with Emile to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible.”
Recall that Arsenal had last week suffered a major injury blow after their midfielder, Thomas Partey, missed Ghana’s international friendly tie against Brazil.
The former Atletico Madrid star sustained a knee injury during warm-up before the kick-off of Ghana’s clash with Brazil.
