Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has said Arsenal don’t have players who are truly world-class in their team.
Even though he said that, Rooney still believes Arsenal can become Premier League champions this season.
Mikel Arteta’s team is currently just four points ahead of Manchester City, with 12 games left to play.
But Rooney is confident that Arsenal are still in a good position to win the league for the first time in 22 years.
He told The Overlap, “Arsenal don’t have an absolutely world-class player, a superstar they rely on completely. But what we’ve seen is they know how to win matches.”
“Of course, Manchester City can still win it. There’s still a third of the season left, so anything can happen. But I think Arsenal will win the league.”
