Former Premier League striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor has told Brazilian midfielder, Philippe Coutinho to apologize to Steven Gerrard after the Liverpool legend was sacked as Aston Villa manager a couple of days ago.
Agbonlahor believes that Coutinho’s performances for Aston Villa this season contributed to Gerrardâs sack.
Aston Villa’s 3-0 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage on Thursday evening meant that they had won only 2 out of 11 eleven matches this season.
Coutinho moved to Villa Park in January and started under Gerrard, who played an influential role in bringing him back to England from Barcelona.
“Coutinho was his [Gerrard] man and he didnât perform for him,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
“Coutinho owes Gerrard an apology for the way he performed, Gerrard backed him.”
