EPL: 4 teams miss out on European football

Published on May 18, 2025 at 05:09 AM

Crystal Palace have secured a place in the Europa League as winners of the FA Cup.

This means that Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth and Fulham can no longer qualify for Europe next season.

That is because the team that finishes in eighth place will not be awarded with a place in the UEFA Conference League.

Palace take the FA Cup place in the Europa League, while the second spot will go to the team in sixth.

That means, as it stands, Nottingham Forest in seventh place, would go into the UEFA Conference League.

Forest are also still in the race to finish in the top five spots, which will guarantee a Champions League ticket this time around.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men need to win their last two fixtures against West Ham and Chelsea, to stand a chance.
