Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, champions, Enyimba, has defeated Bayelsa United 4-1 in a pre-season friendly at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
Enyimba took the lead on 25 minutes through Chijoke Mbaoma.
Eze Pinto doubled the lead for the reigning NPFL champions before the end of the first half.
The People’s Elephant added the third goal in the 65th minute through Joseph Atule after a mixup in the Bayelsa United defence.
Atule got the fourth goal in the 85th minute to put the game beyond the reach of the Restoration Boys.
Bayelsa United reduced the deficit towards the end of the game through Isaac George.
Both teams used the friendly to test their readiness for the new season.
Enyimba will participate in the inaugural edition of the African Football League competition next month.
