EX-England star Terry Butcher poses with Diego Maradona’s “Hand of God” ball — as speculation grows it will fetch more than its £3million estimate at auction.

The defender played in the 1986 World Cup defeat to Argentina in which Maradona scored twice — the first with a punch.

“When you have an exceptional item, you get multiple bidding.

“Sometimes it takes a long while for the last person to pull out.

“Almost anything’s possible at auction which is why it’s so exciting.

“It’s an absolutely exceptional piece.”

Maradona died aged 60 in 2020.
