The captain raised his international goal tally to 78 —
to emphasize Tuchel’s quality and depth as they head into next summer’s finals in North America.
At 32, he stated: “This is as strong a squad as we’ve ever had.
“When you consider the starting 11 and the players coming off the bench, we’re heading into the tournament as one of the favorites.
“We need to embrace that. We’ve been in this position for the past few tournaments, and that’s part of the journey.
“We’ve been developing, we’ve had a fantastic year with the new coach, and now we’re looking forward to a significant 2026.
“The recent camps have been amazing to be a part of. Ending on this note is thrilling.
“I think he [Tuchel] is disappointed that he won’t see us for four or five months.”
Tuchel’s perfect qualifying record allowed England to secure 24 points out of a possible 24 from Group K, scoring 22 goals without conceding any.
Kane scored his first goal in the 74th minute by pushing the ball home after a corner, followed by a header from an excellent cross eight minutes later.
England's manager Tuchel, who made seven changes for the match in Albania, praised Kane’s personal goal achievement.
The German remarked: “We mentioned it in the dressing room. The cherry on top is that he surpassed Pele today.
“Harry’s commitment in these matches is remarkable. He is deeply invested in everything we do.
“If you watch him play for Bayern Munich, I must say it’s the same.
“He’s in a mindset and physical condition that are at the highest level.”
The already-qualified Three Lions have now won 11 consecutive competitive matches for the first time in their history.
Tuchel’s players will return to their clubs for four months before the March friendlies, which are anticipated to be against Japan and Uruguay at Wembley.
The former Bayern and Chelsea manager added: “I told them in the dressing room that I have to say ‘Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and see you in March,’ which truly saddens me.
“I nearly became emotional because I would love to compete with them next Wednesday and Saturday, but it’s not possible.
“It’s everything a coach could ask for.”
