ABBY Bucco was proposed to with a wildly expensive engagement ring, but it has since caused a huge divide online.

The 27-year-old, who grew up in , , met her partner, Chris, 28, in college through mutual friends.

The pair began in June 2021 and Chris left Abby speechless when he got down on one knee and last November.

But since sharing snaps from the romantic proposal on , the internet has gone wild over the fashion merchandiser’s very unique .

While some thought it was “cool as hell,” mean trolls said it looked like a “can opener.”

Abby, who is known amongst her friends and family for having a , confirmed that Chris proposed to her on his birthday, with a vintage, floral engagement ring from Wilson’s Estate Jewelry.

In a short video shared online, the shared snaps of the jaw-dropping , as she wrote: “Posting some close ups of my ring!!! Mid century French Circa 1950!!!!!”

According to the online description, the large ring features numerous diamonds, including centre stones that weigh about 1.45 and 1.70 carats, a platinum band and a coiled bypass shape.

Overjoyed with her new piece of , Abby gushed: “Can’t stop staring at it.”

She also revealed that the showstopper piece is the ring of her “dreams.”

Huge divide

But Abby’s clip, which was posted under the username @ abbybuccoo , has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and racked up 3.8 million views.

And social media users were left totally divided by Abby’s – while some thought it was “beautiful,” not everyone was as kind.

But in response to the haters, Abby snapped back and exclaimed: “I know it’s a f*****g cocktail ring – I wanted a cocktail ring!!!!!!!!”

Abby speaks out

Since clapping back at trolls, Abby has since opened up to Business Insider about her .

The young woman said: “I was never going to have something that everyone else had.”

Abby confirmed that she saw the ring online and was obsessed, as she gushed: “I didn’t want anything else. That was the ring.

“I loved it even more in person. The pictures honestly don’t do it justice.”

But although Abby is overjoyed with her ring, not everyone is as keen.

She explained: “My did not like it at all. He thought it was ridiculous and would be way for my . He didn’t want to get it.”

Despite this, Abby loves it and so does Chris, as she continued: “He knows I have a really particular taste. He said that if I think it’s cool, then it’s cool. And he knows that my mum knows me well.”

Addressing the troll comments, Abby observed: “Some of the comments are so weird…People are very concerned that it’s a cocktail ring. But it’s just not a concern of mine.”
