Elon Musk bans hashtags from X ads

Tech millionaire Elon Musk has announced his decision to ban hashtags from X ads starting June 27, 2025.

Musk announced the decision in a post on his X handle on Thursday.

“Starting tomorrow, the esthetic nightmare that is hashtags will be banned from ads on ,”; the Tesla CEO said.

DAILY POST reports that the move follows Musk’s December 2024 call to ditch hashtags, supported by user reports of better reach without them.

Some X users have described the development as a game changer, saying it’s a bold move for a cleaner and more classy feed.
