Michella was just the second player in Hull KR history to win the Challenge Cup as captain, but said that was not something he was thinking about.

He commented: “I’ve not really thought about it to be honest, those individual things you will probably only think about when you’ve finished, in terms of like retiring.

“It would be very special but probably not something I would think about until that day comes, hopefully far away.

“Just to do it with a team, its more about the memories you’ve got together with the team.

“Obviously we only won it 12 months ago so, there’s a lot of the same players and we’ve all got that common bond.

“We want to do that again and emulate that feeling that we had last year, it was very special.”

Elliot Minchella spent time at Leeds Rhinos, London Broncos, Sheffield Eagles and Braford Bulls, but is proud to be Hull KR captain at such a historic time for the club.

He commented: “Yeah 100%, I recognise by job as a captain, it’s not something that I take for granted, its something that I’m very proud of and I learnt a lot from the previous captain.

“Obviously now its my turn to do it, and to try and leave the club in a good place when its time to hand it on to someone else.

“I understand what it means to represent the people of Hull, East Hull in particular where we’re from, to lead the boys out every week it’s a massive privilege,

“I’ll never take it for granted as you never know when you’re last one is going to be, but yeah love it, it’s the best job in the world.”

He also said his side were looking to chase the feeling of winning after a quadruple in 2024/25, saying: “the feeling we got last year when we won, and obviously we won other trophies along the way, just unbelievable

“It is an addictive feeling to be honest, an addictive thrill, and the joy that it brings you, satisfying feeling

“We’re gonna chase that again, and yeah, we want to win.”
