A Federal High Court in Kaduna State has barred the former governor of the state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, from granting interviews on the case between him and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.

The order was part of his bail conditions, which have been described as outrageous by some supporters of the former governor.

DAILY POST had reported that the court on Tuesday granted El-Rufai bail in the corruption case instituted against him by the ICPC.

However, the trial judge, Rilwanu Aikawa, who delivered the ruling, listed conditions that msut be fulfilled before he is released from custody.

The court ordered that El-Rufai provide a N200 million bail bond with two sureties.

One of the sureties was also required to provide a Certificate of Occupancy for landed property, while the second person must be a respected elder in Kaduna State, verified by the Kaduna State Council of Elders.

“El-Rufai and his counsel must not grant interviews regarding the case pending the conclusion of the trial.

“El-Rufai must report to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, on the first day of every month and deposit his passport with the court”, the trial judge added.
