The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has cautioned Nigerians against being deceived that the former Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi is humble because he was seen serving food.

Wike said Nigerians like people who deceive them, stressing that Obi is just pretending to be humble.

He was reacting to a viral footage of Obi serving food at a charity event in Imo State recently.

The Minister spoke at the launch of modern transit buses by the Edo State government in Benin City.

According to Wike: “This is not where a presidential candidate will be carrying food to serve, no - this is pretense. How long will he be serving the food?

“As a presidential candidate to carry food and be serving and Nigerians are laughing? Saying he is humble.

“Who told you that is humility? Who told you that? And you people gave audience to that kind of thing.

“And somebody will be telling you as a presidential candidate, when I win I will use a commercial plane and you think he is telling you the truth? Which security will allow you?

“We must tell ourselves the simple truth, Nigerians you like people who will play you wayo, you don’t like people who will tell you the simple truth.

“When he was governor, was he serving food? Now because elections are coming I want to serve if you like go and listen to him.”
