The Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarrett Tenebe, has stated that any commissioner who is excluded from the State Executive Council meeting for failing to wear the ‘Asiwaju cap’ as instructed by Governor Monday Okpebholo will face suspension from the party.
DAILY POST recalls that on October 14, during the swearing-in of newly appointed commissioners and the inauguration of boards and commissions, Governor Okpebholo emphasized the importance of wearing branded outfits in support of President Tinubu.
Tenebe characterized noncompliance with the governor’s directive as an act of indiscipline and insubordination, warning that the party will not accept any form of disloyalty.
“If you refuse to wear the cap as directed by the governor, we will suspend you. That is considered indiscipline and insubordination,” he stated.
“We are taking this stance because we have committed to securing 3.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu. Everyone is working towards achieving that goal.
“As members of the APC, if you receive an appointment, you are expected to demonstrate loyalty to the President. We show our loyalty by wearing the cap. Those who are complaining are not true members of the APC. We in Edo have made it clear — no Asiwaju cap, no Exco,” he added.
