Benn’s mammoth deal with the promotion, which is being run by the ‘s parent company – the TKO Group – and Saudi conglomerate Sela, has once again raised the issue of fighter pay in .

Several of the sport’s biggest names have expressed their shock at the pay packet Benn, who hasn’t even won a British title, will receive.

UFC supremo attempted to quell his fighters’ concerns about pay on Monday night, insisting they’ll be “just fine”

That declaration baffled Matchroom Boxing supremo ace Hearn, who during an appearance on , he said: “There is so much contradiction going on.

Especially people who are on the payroll of the UFC. Even Dana White.

“Dana White sits there at a press conference last night and says ‘Conor Benn making all this money is great for UFC fighters.’

“I am like, how? Basically, every UFC fighter is just looking at that guy, and it just doesn’t make sense.”

Hearn is now immersed in the MMA world after signing UFC heavyweight champion to Matchroom’s Talent Agency.

The purses the Atherton assassin has received in his near six years in the promotion has stunned Hearn, who reckons something has got to give.

He continued: “Right now, I’m looking at the landscape and thinking, ‘This is crazy.’

“It’s almost like a revolution, and it’s going to be really interesting.”

That something, according to Hearn, could potentially be a mutiny.

In an , he said: “Yeah, absolutely. I really do think [they could face a mutiny].”

Hearn, however, believes change will only come if both up-and-coming and established fighters band together.

He added: “It starts with the top guys, but it really starts with the guys coming up.

“If I signed an extraordinary MMA talent, a young talent that the UFC have identified and wanted to be part of their roster, I would never, ever, ever let them sign one of those contracts.

“If that starts happening, everything will change.

“Now the guys at the top who are sat in contracts, obviously if they make noise, there’s gonna be calls for change.

“But there’s probably enough liquidity for those guys to say, ‘Right, listen!

“‘If you’re not happy, we’ll stick him in instead. He’ll take it.’ So there needs to be more of a union, if you like.”
