EBANIE BRIDGES has opened up on her relationship with Kell Brook – after the former world champion admitted that she “saved his life”.

, 39, recently claimed that “saved his life” as he battled his demons to “get out of the darkness”.
Speaking to Boxing King Media , the Australian, also 39, responded to Brook’s comments.
The former IBF bantamweight champion said: “I thought publicly it was nice. I don’t do it for credit, I never did it for credit – I did it because I loved him.
“I helped him because I loved him and because I’ve seen the person that he could be and that he is underneath.
“I saw the person, the man he is underneath. I could see that he was possessed by this devil – addiction and depression.
“I could see what was underneath and I wanted to bring that out.
“To hear that, it was nice for Kell. And it was also because, Kell, he’s a very, very private person. So for him to talk about me in that (way)… it’s very private and deep for him.
“So for him to come out about that was really lovely.”

Bridges went on to add: “I felt it was nice, like ‘thanks babe’. It’s nice – that’s it really, I was just like ‘yeah it was nice’, you know? It wasn’t like it was ‘oh finally’.
“Because again, it’s between us, I know his family, everyone that knows us, knows the story…
“It was nice to get ‘credit’ – but he did all of the work.”
Brook hung up his gloves in 2022 after beating in Manchester.
The Sheffield star had been linked with a switch to brutal bare-knuckle boxing – before his last month.
The late, great had been due to fight Eisa Al Dah in December, before aged 46.
Brook, who paid an emotional tribute to Hatton back in September, will now take on Al Dah in Dubai on February 13.
The bout will support the newly-formed Ricky Hatton Foundation.

Upon taking the fight, Brook reflected: “I have got a beautiful son, he is my pride and joy.
“I am in control of my life, I am excited, I am clear… I am happy-go-lucky.
“I do things with Ebanie and my son and see different parts of the world. I have found myself. Before, I didn’t know what was going on.
“Today I have got a purpose to live. I’m in God’s hands, and I feel in a very good place.”
On Bridges, he added: “She got me out of that darkness. She saved my life, really and truthfully.
“She is so armed with the knowledge and been through a lot of things herself in her own battles in life, and she has guided me to where I am today – and that is clean and sober and living a beautiful life.”
