EASTENDERS fans reckon they’ve ‘worked out’ the mystery father of Zoe Slater’s twins.
Bombshell flashbacks – but one baby seemingly didn’t survive the birth.

At the moment, the identity of the twins’ father is yet to be confirmed.
Writing online, viewers suggested it could be Max Branning – who to Albert Square.
One penned: “Could be Max given Max didn’t show up in Walford until 2006, and Tanya had said a few times that Max cheated on her before they moved to Walford…”
Another said: “Knowing eastenders it will be Max’s, meaning he had a baby with Zoe before he even joined the show or met Stacey, which would fit his character.”
A third shared: “I reckon the twins might be Max’s or Anthony’s?
“But when did Max arrive in 2006 on the Square, Spring, Autumn with a wife and two kids, Lauren & Abi?”
Meanwhile, a fourth recounted Max’s debut on Albert Square – and how this could tie in.
They pointed out: “June 2006. The Brannings are introduced with Tanya wanting a divorce because Max has been knocking up “that cow”.
“Now we know “that cow” was ZOE. #EastEnders.”
Ever since Zoe’s time back in Walford has been far from peaceful.
She was the victim of an accidental shooting after a fight broke out between Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
Zoe’s ex-boyfriend Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) tended to her before paramedics arrived on the scene.
Kat () feared her daughter is running from someone determined to harm her.
When Zoe’s phone rang, Kat picked up, wanting answers – with Max revealed as the person on the other end.
Earlier, viewers watched Kat and Zoe finally reunite on-screen – 20 years after Zoe left for a new life in .
Even though Kat begged her to stay, Zoe didn’t want to drag her new brothers into her mess of a life.
That being said, will her life-threatening injury change things?
Executive Producer previously teased: “As Zoe makes her dramatic return to , more than one secret in her past will come to light as we look to explore the reasons behind her return, and what has happened in the past 20 years to make her the person she is today.”
