A FORMER EastEnders star has landed a major movie role in the reboot of The X Files, where he’ll perform opposite a BAFTA nominated actress.
The star left the Square a decade ago to pursue other acting opportunities.

Now has bagged himself a lead role playing a wholly new character in Ryan Coogler’s reboot pilot, which was picked up by back in February.
Himesh will star alongside Danielle Deadwyler as one of two “highly decorated” agents.
She’s received numerous accolades throughout her career, largely for her acclaimed performance as Mamie Till-Mobley in the film Till.
They included a prestigious nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the BAFTA Awards in 2023.
The official logline describing the plot of The X Files reboot details how Himesh and Danielle will “form an unlikely bond” when they are “assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.”
This will be the first ever reboot of The X Files since its initial release in 1993.
Though this won’t be the first time Himesh and Danielle have crossed paths in the world of film and television.
They both previously appeared together in the miniseries Station Eleven, which debuted in 2021.

Himesh earned an Emmy nomination for his performance as Jeevan Chaudhary – a devoted family man and town doctor.
Some of his other TV credits include the HBO programmes Avenue 5 and The Franchise.
He also recently starred alongside Riz Ahmed in the series, Bait.
In terms of film, Himesh has previously starred in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet as well as Yesterday.
He’s further due to appear in the upcoming release of The Odyssey.
During his time on , Himesh played the role of Tamwar Masood.
His first appearance on the popular soap was in 2007, where his character went through all kinds of ups and downs from marriage and a tragic house fire.
Tamwar left Albert Square to travel the world with Nancy Carter, who became his second wife.
Though he did make an appearance in the EastEnders spin-off series, EastEnders: E20.
It was Himesh’s first professional acting role, which he started when he was only 16 years old.
