EASTENDERS fans have worked out who the New Years’ flash forward gunman is after spotting a clue with Max Branning.

The scheming businessman – who is played by actor Jake Wood in the BBC soap – featured heavily in the flash forward episode that saw his kids Oscar and Lauren taken by a gun-totting individual.

And now fans are convinced they’ve worked out who it will be after spoilers revealed that Max will soon cause a shock exit for another Walford villain.

This week viewers saw Johnny Carter be forced into sleeping with businessman Tim in order to keep Callum out of jail.

Becoming twisted with jealousy he orchestrated a plot to put Callum’s job in the police on the line – by pretending it was for his in .

Instead, he manipulated Callum into breaking into his own house and then used CCTV footage to blackmail him.

He told J – and continue to invest in his business – if he slept with him.

With Callum facing losing everything, Johnny was forced to agree.

And now spoilers have revealed he will have an unexpected helper in running Tim out of Walford for good.

Next week Linda is worried for Johnny and admits to Elaine that she could have stopped Tim’s ‘test’ on Callum.

Against Elaine’s advice, Linda tells Johnny the truth, and he is furious with her for interfering.

Later, Johnny is forced to meet Tim at the office to sign the paperwork and is mortified when Linda turns up to berate Tim.

Johnny sends her away, but when Tim insists on going for a drink, things get worse as Callum arrives.

Meanwhile, Linda confides in Max, who later takes matters into his own hands by pretending to be Tim’s taxi driver.

Linda will be left frantic as she tells Johnny that Max has taken Tim, but he’s got bigger things to worry about when he’s forced to tell Callum what happened.

At first, Callum is furious, but after Johnny explains how he was trying to protect him and Lexi, he is consumed with guilt.

Meanwhile, Max’s plan for Tim unfolds and he makes clear to Tim that he should never set foot in Walford again.

Now fans think that Max getting rid of Tim means that Tim will be the one to return for revenge.
