ANOTHER EastEnders legend has made a surprising return to Walford today – alongside Pat Butcher.
The character hasn’t been seen since a brief return earlier this year but made an unexpected comeback in the special episode.

Viewers witnessed as Nigel – who is facing challenges – was transported back to the 90s in the Queen Vic, where he was warmly welcomed by Pat Butcher, Barry Evans, and his former wife Debbie.
However, there was another unexpected return in the episode with Grant Mitchell making a surprise appearance – though not with the original actor.
Instead, actor Teddy Jay reprised his role from a previous flashback, appearing alongside his younger on-screen brother.
The episode showcased Nigel trying to find a gift for his wife Julie while reconnecting with familiar faces from his past.
Actress Pam St Clement returned for the special episode despite Pat having passed away from cancer in 2012.
Reflecting on her surprise return, actress Pam stated: “I felt a bit bewildered and overwhelmed.”
“Putting on those clothes and make-up again was surprisingly challenging,” she added.
“I thought it would be much easier, but I realized that I had moved on from the character. I thought I had detached myself from her attire, her make-up, and everything else, but the public still remembers her vividly because of the many repeats on television.”
Pam shared that she is still recognized today – even by younger individuals who may not have watched her during the show's peak.
She noted: “There are young fans who approach me, and I think, ‘Thank you very much, but how do you know me? You’re too young!’ They respond, ‘Oh no, we watch it on television,’ and indeed they do, and it’s wonderful to have that support.”
However, she admitted to having difficulty re-entering the character she last portrayed as a ghost in 2016 during Peggy Mitchell’s farewell.
“I must say, getting back into Pat’s persona is notably more challenging today after filming, but I believe the key to the whole ensemble lies in the earrings,” she remarked.
Pam added: “I enjoyed reconnecting with my colleagues, and perhaps I’ve continued to work with some of them since. I never anticipated that a television series could foster such closeness.”

“The next step after that is theatre, where you develop closeness with people as you spend a lot of time together. Often, you find yourself away from your usual environment while performing in a theatre show, and it’s remarkable to have a group of individuals come together.”
“It’s exceptionally structured. Incredibly structured, and it functions well because everyone is working towards the same goal.”
